Earth Hour

March 26, 2011 marks the third international Earth Hour celebration. People everywhere are demanding urgent action from their governments to drastically reduce pollution in all its forms, including human-caused carbon dioxide emissions from the burning of fossil fuels - the cause of global warming.

They will also be assessing their own and their community's environmental footprint and taking steps - beyond Earth Hour - to reduce their adverse impact on the Earth - our only home.

Taking a Break

The authors Marian and Robin White have had a hectic few years' writing, publishing, and marketing Wild Alberta at the Crossroads and presenting slide shows — not to mention coping with deaths in the family, surgeries, etc. So they are taking time out for rest and recreation. But they'll be back!

Calgary Fall/Winter Season (TBA) Illustrated Talk & Discussion

Robin and Marian White have accepted an invitation to present a talk to the Knights of the Round Table in Calgary. Watch for details.

Participate in Earth Hour this night! Marian and Robin White will sign copies of their award-winning Wild Alberta at the Crosroads and share energy tips and tales at Indigo bookstore, Signal Hill.

Calgary December 4 (Sat, 11:30–1:30 pm+) book signing

Robin and Marian will share their stories at the University of Calgary Bookstore’ Authors’ Event, First Floor, MacEwan Student Centre, 2500 University Drive NW.

Calgary November 28 (Sunday, Noon to 5 pm) book signing

The Whites will share their wildlife stories at Chapters – Macleod Trail (Southland Crossing, 9631 Macleod Trail SW).

Banff November 27 (Saturday, Noon to 5 pm) book signing

Marian and Robin will be at Indigospirit bookstore, Cascade Plaza, 317 Banff Avenue, to share wildlife stories with you and sign purchased copies of Wild Alberta at the Crossroads.

Calgary November 26 (Friday, Noon-5pm) book signing

Robin and Marian will be at Coles, Northhill Shopping Centre, 1632, 14 Street NW, to share their stories.

Calgary November 21 (Noon-5pm) book signing

Marian and Robin will be sharing their adventures and wildlife stories at the Chapters Dalhousie store, 5005 Dalhousie Drive NW.

This is Remembrance Day – a time to honour those men and women who fought and worked in the wars to protect our home countries from harm. Today, at Chapters Dalhousie, 5005 Dalhousie Drive NW, the Whites will also honour Mother Nature and spread the message, with stories from their book, Wild Alberta at the Crossroads, to defend her and do her no needless harm. The Earth is our only home – and Nature has the last word.
