Wild Alberta at the Crossroads wins North American book award! (more)

Wild Alberta at the Crossroads traces the authors’ seven-year journey through Alberta’s mountains, foothills, grasslands, parkland, boreal forest and Canadian Shield.

Their outstanding photography and inspiring stories encourage everyone to get out and enjoy its glorious wildlands and wildlife.

But enjoying nature is no longer enough. Alberta citizens are the owners and custodians of a landscape and wildlife heritage facing unprecedented pressures from extractive industry, urban sprawl, overconsumption, and unsustainable growth. It is urgent that we pause, rethink our priorities, and develop a vision and plan for an ecologically sustainable future.

This book shows what is at stake, the major environ-mental issues, and how, together, we can and must become actively involved in good solutions. How vigorously we take up this challenge and put Alberta’s house in order will determine our legacy – and our children’s future.
